貨物在海關通關過程中會存在海關查驗的必備環節，這是必不可少的一個步驟。一般，海關查驗時會將產品包裝打開或者提取貨樣抽查（註：對於不能打開包裝的產品請事先申明，以免查驗耽擱）。國家相關法律法規規定，快件的查驗率在10%以內。那麽，對於快件方式以及小額貿易方式進口的貨物，海關會根據貨物申報品名監管條件與當日查驗概率給予查驗。
查驗過程中如沒發現異常情況，海關會當場出具查驗通知書做封關後放行。如果發生扣關，可能是以下六種情況導致：
1、申報價值和估價不一致；
2、品名和產品不符；
3、裝箱清單不詳；
4、貨物夾帶違禁品；
5、重量不符；
6、收貨人條件不允許。（如沒進出口權等）
